Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale was once a prosperous agricultural community.

WELCOME TO SUNNYVALE

Like much of Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale was once a prosperous agricultural community. Formerly a vast expanse of wheat farms, the city’s landscape eventually gave way to numerous fruit orchards, which dominated Sunnyvale’s economy until Lockheed moved its factories to Sunnyvale in the 1950s. From then on, Sunnyvale has hosted a number of high-profile employers whose presence have fostered the city’s establishment as a driving force in the tech industry. Sunnyvale’s spacious suburbs and a prime location adjacent to Moffett Federal Airfield have also ensured its consistent tech presence. Multiple shopping centers, a recently revitalized downtown area, and hundreds of acres of park facilities add to this community’s enticing appeal.
